Seamer is a picturesque village and civil parish in the county of North Yorkshire, England, near the border with the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees and 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Stokesley. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the district of Hambleton, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council. The village has a rich history dating back to the Domesday Book of 1086 . This rural village has a small pond and supports a small farming community. There are two churches in the village, a Methodist chapel and St Martin’s Church of England. The parish of Seamer, which includes Tame Bridge and some surrounding countryside has a population of 589 according to the most recently published Census (2021).
Seamer Parish Council is the parish for Seamer and Tame Bridge. It is made up of 5 elected councillors. They raise a small precept via council tax and its objective is to improve the life of local residents.

I lived in the village as a child and attended Seamer Primary School. I moved back to the area (specifically Tame Bridge) eleven years ago with my husband and joined the parish council in 2022.
