Seamer Parish receives an annual sum of approx. £10K from the owners of the windfarm. This is given for the benefit of the village and is to be used to benefit the Community. The fund is open to anyone living in either Seamer or Tame Bridge. If you are organising an event or have any ideas on what you would like to see in the village, please speak to a councillor or submit an application. We would be delighted to hear from you with your ideas and suggestions.
This fund is to make things better in the village so please feel free to apply. All requests will be discussed at the bi-monthly Parish Council meeting when a decision will be made by a minimum of 3 Parish Councillors. This is not used for repairs to footpaths or potholes etc which are dealt with by North Yorkshire Council and can by submitted via their website https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/
The name of the fund is “Seamer Parish Community Fund”
The funds are awarded by the owners of the windfarm.
The propose of the fund is to award funds for the benefit of the residents living in the Parish of Seamer.
The applications and decisions are overseen, administered and approved by the elected Seamer Parish Councillors. Applications will be discussed and approved at the parish council meetings (or may be discussed outside of theses formal meetings if timeframes dictate).
Applications are to be made by provision of application form completed in full and sent to clerk@seamerparishcouncil.gov.uk 2 weeks in advance of the next Parish Council meeting giving time for it to be added to the agenda. Any urgent applications should be clearly marked as a decision can potentially be made outside of the parish meeting if deemed appropriate.
The parish council meets bi-monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November at 7pm in Seamer Memorial Community Hall.
The quorum for passing application decisions is a minimum of 3 Parish Councillors voting in support of the application.
All decision will be advised to the applicant by email and also documented in the minutes of the Parish Council meeting at which they were discussed.

All funding requests will be reimbursed against receipts for the approved spend and must be approved in advance of the funds being spent. Seamer Parish Council accepts no responsibility for funds which have been spent in advance of any application decision.
Annual General meetings of members
A minimum of one general meeting of members is held once per calendar year. The maximum length of time that may elapse between one Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the next is 15 months. All other meetings of members are Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs). Parishioners will receive notice of general meetings by poster on the village notice boards and the Seamer Village website.
